Cheaha State Park, Alabama! We are back in Alabama! We decided to revisit one of our favorite spots! Mt. Cheaha State Park! I wrote a blog post about it HERE back in August. The fall colors are starting to shine through now and the park was packed with people wanting to look out over the valley to see the fall beauty! Cheaha State Park offers a unique opportunity for home school families. Along the trail there are numerous information kiosks that identify geophysical and biological features of the area. Whether traveling for exercise or education, it is definitely an exciting trip that we will make again.     While “off the beaten path” we stopped to ask the people behind us to take a family picture of us. Turns out they recognized us as full-time travelers! We stopped and talked for a while and the boys got to meet another (soon to be) traveling friend! Best wishes to The Buttram family as their nomadic journey starts soon! 2/19/2014 Update: The Buttram’s began their dream of becoming a full time family! We met up with them later for a trial run with their new RV at the KOA in Oxford, Alabama before they shipped off to winter in Arizona.

Of course the boys had to wear their cloaks made by the very talented Michelle in Cheyenne, Wyoming! They were smart to wear them because it was a little cold!

One of the kids’ favorite things to do is look out the binoculars!

Me and the very bearded Patrick! 🙂

This time we took a different path since so many people were on the board walk. The boys loved finding their way through the woods to get back to the car!

Adams Canyon, Utah http://thatsavagelife.com/adams-canyon-utah/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=adams-canyon-utah http://thatsavagelife.com/adams-canyon-utah/#comments Sat, 31 Mar 2012 09:32:34 +0000 http://happilyuprooted.wordpress.com/?p=394 While in beautiful Utah we took our first family hike on a trail called The Adams Canyon Trail.   What we thought was going to be a 3 hour 3.5 mile there and back trail ended up being a 6 hour 7 mile trail there and back. The trail was pretty strenuous and a little scary in spots… there were sharp drop offs and steep, rocky climbs… both up and down the mountain. Overall we really enjoyed the hike and beautiful scenery. The next day Patrick and I were super sore, but the kids were hopping around just fine. We can’t wait to do some more trails!
