Hill Air Force Base, Utah
So far we really like Hill Air Force Base, Utah. We stay at Fam Camps since we are military affiliated. This family camp is acceptable. The camp host is a little lazy and things do not get done in a timely manner, but the sites are level and it is in a great location. We are across the street from the gym, next to the track and field as well as next to the playground and splash park… which would be convenient if it weren’t in the 30’s outside! We have met some great people here so far and are looking forward to meeting more! The boys are loving the snow… and…

We’ve been everywhere!
We’ve been everywhere! It has been a very busy last few months. I haven’t blogged since November so it is time to catch up! In November we headed west to California for about a month. On the way there we had the opportunity to meet up with several traveling families who live on the road full time like we do! The Travaglino’s run the website www.FulltimeFamilies.com where dreamers and veteran travelers can come together for advice and friendship! We spent a couple of days in Quartzsite, Arizona… an RV mecca! We also got to meet up with the Mulac family of www.mulacfamilymarketers.com and we all went to a spaghetti dinner benefit for…

Canyon, TX… the other windy city.
While in Amarillo we had the pleasure of visiting some awesome friends from the past! We met the Mullins family in 2004 while Patrick was active duty air force stationed in the Mojave Desert of California. Patrick was deployed with Galen for Operation Iraqi Freedom and they have been friends ever since. We love the whole family. We parked our rig in their driveway and just hung out for two days. We had no plans and no expectations and had a blast! The wind was INSANE! 40 plus mile and hour sustained winds made it impossible to be outside for long, but it is always fun to visit them! The kids…

Lions and tigers and bears… in Ft. Worth, TX
Our trip to Ft. Worth, Texas was so that Patrick could complete some of his Air Force reserve commitment. The first few days we stayed at Cowtown RV Park in Aledo, TX. This RV Park is really nice. The sites are level for the most part and the facilities were great. We were treated to a DELICIOUS homemade dinner by the Montrose family. Keva is an amazing cook and it is always such a treat to eat there! Plus the boys know that she has yummy chocolate gelato in the freezer and are always ready to go to their house for dinner! We took our RV in for service for…

Aledo to Amarillo!
Today is officially the start of our journey to Jolon, CA! We left Aledo, TX outside of Ft. Worth and we are in route to Amarillo, TX! We stopped in Eastland, TX and ate dinner in the RV in the Walmart parking lot. It’s 7:45 at night… the tired mommy in me wants to call it a night, but the nomad in me wants to keep trucking along! So… We pulled the slides in and headed down the road. We plan to boondock in the Walmart parking lot once we make Abilene. I’ll let you know how it goes with a night of no electricity.

Dr. Pepper, Texas
Yesterday we had some time to mosey our way from Lampasas, Tx to Stephenville, Tx. We decided to stop in a tiny town called Dublin, Tx. Dublin is the home of the oldest Dr. Pepper bottling factory in the world. This same factory still uses the original formula with pure cane sugar. The factory offers tours and for our family of four it was less than $5.00. At the end of the tour we all got to enjoy a free bottle of ice cold Dublin Dr. Pepper. After the museum we made our way to Stephenville, TX. Home of Tarleton State University where my sisters are studying to be nurses.…

Day 1 Georgetown, Tx to Lampasas, Tx
Today is Day 1 of our adventure! We left at 8 am this morning without any difficulties or issues! We are currently headed to Lampasas, Texas to visit with friends over coffee. We haven’t decided if we are staying in Lampasas, Texas tonight or if we will stay in Stephenville, Texas or somewhere in between. I guess that’s part of the fun of the adventure!
